Employee wellbeing was a low priority for many companies in 2021!
That’s what a 2021 report by Willis Towers Watson claims.
One would think that at a time when a global pandemic was at an all-time high, organizations and employees were similarly devastated with the loss of business, livelihood, and morale, with sky-high levels of attrition, employee wellbeing would be a priority. But reality proves otherwise.
According to the 2021 Wellbeing Diagnostic Survey, despite recognizing the issue of employee burnout:
- Only about 26% of companies had adopted an employee wellbeing strategy
- Only 14% had effectively delivered on their promise of ensuring a greater degree of employee wellbeing.
- Less than half of organizations had employee wellbeing programs.
Today hiring and keeping quality employees have become a steeper challenge than ever. If organizations do not focus on developing and nurturing one of their greatest assets – the workforce, now then when?
